Art has always been a huge part of my life. I was brought up in a home where my mother was always creating something...drawing, painting or sculpting. Needless to say there was plenty of creative outlets available to me as a child but it wasn't until high school when my father gave me my first 35mm Pentax and I found my passion for photography. I had discovered MY creative outlet during sophomore year when I joined the yearbook committee and started documenting the everyday life of my classmates.
I am one of those rare people who have always known what they wanted to do when they grew up. Ok, that's a half-truth.... A love for art was always present in my life but it took me awhile to figure out how I could make a career out of the things I loved to do. It was when I was faced with that daunting question during college registration, you know the blank line that asked: "What is your declared major?" That day I remember clearly...I chose Photography and Fine Art. Luckily, I knew what my degree was actually worth. If I had to pay for it, it might as well be something I love to do. I enjoyed every minute of it... I left the university with a wealth of knowledge in technique, history, business savvy and a degree to boot!
It wasn't until I picked up that first 35mm camera that I could really see, my eyes were open, but I was blind. Experiencing life through my lens has enabled me to see the nuances in nature and people that make up the wonder of what life is all about. My passion is capturing the special moments in lives of all of my clients and photographing women of all backgrounds to show them how beautiful they are in their own skin.
An incredible woman that I admire said it best....
